It realizes data communication between PROFINET network and serial‑port network. The gateway is equipped with two serial ports (one RS232 and one RS485), which can connect devices with RS232 and RS485 interfaces to the PROFINET network respectively, converting serial‑port devices into PROFINET‑compliant devices. When the gateway acts as a Modbus master station, up to 4 Modbus devices can be connected at the serial‑port side.

Technical indicators

The DTCA‑2V01 acts as a slave station on the PROFINET side. At the serial‑port side, it can function as a Modbus master or slave station, and supports custom‑defined protocols (depending on specific protocols).

It supports the standard PROFINET IO protocol.
PROFINET supports up to 32 slots, with a maximum input byte count of 384 and a maximum output byte count of 384. (The usable length is limited by the PDU size of the specific PLC and communication module.) The byte lengths of input and output can be configured via host‑computer master‑station software such as TIA Portal or STEP7.
